Our founders, John Shonkwiler and Stacey Shonkwiler, built Leland Grove Law based on over 40 years of experience in government and private practice, and an idea that quality always matters. Our pledge is to provide smart, honest and passionate legal representation to every client, in every case.

We have been trial lawyers and business counsel to individuals, startups, family businesses and multinational corporations. Unlike the larger firms we compete with, we are not tied to the billed hour convention or beholden to any profits-per-partner statistics. OUR LAWYERS

Stacey Shonkwiler spent close
to a decade with the Illinois Supreme Court and First District Appellate Court before returning to private practice in 2011. Most notably, Stacey served as Justice Robert Cahill’s “elbow clerk” for close to seven years, writing legal opinions for the Judge in civil and criminal cases, including several highly publicized, landmark decisions. John Shonkwiler has 25 years of experience as a commercial litigator and trial lawyer. Before launching Leland Grove in 2016, John was a partner at the litigation boutique firm Novack and Macey LLP. John is listed in the U.S. News "Best Lawyers" directory. He is recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters and a “Leading Lawyer” by Law Bulletin Publishing. KELLY GOLDBERG

ABRA SIEGEL

Abra C. Siegel has over 25 years of experience as a litigator, with an emphasis on complex corporate litigation and employment law. After law school, Ms. Siegel worked in the New York office of a national law firm, representing corporate clients in civil litigation. She subsequently clerked for the Israeli Supreme Court and its Ministry of Justice. After returning to the United States, Ms. Siegel worked in as a criminal prosecutor on the state and federal level. Following her government service, Ms. Siegel worked at two Fortune 500 companies in the Chicago area, where she managed securities fraud litigation and was trained in employee relations law. Ms. Siegel subsequently founded her own boutique firm, where she represented clients in shareholder oppression and trust and estate litigation, and a variety of employment law matters. Read more…
